ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Fraternal Order of Police today endorsed Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt for the United States Senate citing his commitment to law and order and his unwavering support for men and women in blue.

“Helping keep Missourians safe and delivering justice for victims have been hallmarks of my service to Missouri as their attorney general,” Attorney General Eric Schmitt said. “As Missouri’s chief legal and law enforcement official, I am in awe of the work police officers do to keep our streets safe.  Keeping Missourians safe starts in our neighborhoods and communities where day after day, night after night, the men and women of law enforcement are doing everything possible to protect our families.  While others are pushing to ‘defund the police,’ we are spearheading new initiatives in the attorney general’s office to provide law enforcement with greater resources to address violent crime and achieve justice for victims.  I am grateful for the endorsement of police officers in my campaign and will continue to do all I can to support our men and women in blue.”

“Eric Schmitt is the one candidate running for Missouri’s US Senate seat who understands what Missouri police officers deal with daily to keep Missouri safe.  Missouri police officers know we can count on Eric Schmitt to work with us and support us as we go about our jobs.  We endorse his campaign for US Senate because our country needs more people like Eric Schmitt working for us in Washington,” said Rick Inglima, president and labor chair of the Missouri Fraternal Order of Police

“We know Eric Schmitt and know of his commitment to public safety and the men and women in uniform tasked with keeping our streets safe.  This is why the Missouri Fraternal Order Police is endorsing his campaign for US Senate,” said Kevin Ahlbrand, immediate past president, national trustee and legislative director of the Missouri Fraternal Order of Police

“The Missouri Fraternal Order of Police endorses Eric Schmitt for US Senate because he is the only candidate that has shown by words, and most importantly by actions, he supports and stands with law enforcement officials.  Eric Schmitt is a leader Missourians can count on,” said Jay Schroeder, president of St. Louis Police Officers Association Lodge 68, and vice president of the Missouri Fraternal Order of Police.

As Attorney General, Eric Schmitt has been dedicated to safer communities and supporting Missouri’s law enforcement officers.  General Schmitt created the Safer Streets Initiative ushering in a new era of cooperation between the Missouri Attorney General’s Office and federal prosecutors to address violent crime.  He also launched the SAFE Kit Initiative to bring justice to victims of sexual assault.

Missouri is not immune from the consequences of illegal immigration from human trafficking to drugs. Eric Schmitt has worked to address these threats and forced President Joe Biden to restart the Remain in Mexico policy, a successful immigration initiative started by President Trump.

Earlier in the campaign, Matthew Whitaker, Acting Attorney General of the United States during the Trump administration, endorsed Eric Schmitt for US Senate, stating: “In President Trump’s Justice Department, we knew we could count on Eric Schmitt to support law and order, law enforcement and the rule of law.”
